Back into CVSing

I took a few months' break from shopping at CVS. I just got a little burned out with running everywhere for deals, and needed a break. Anyway, after checking my shampoo, soap, toothpaste stockpile, I found that I'm starting to run a little low. So, I'm back in the game.

Who's with me? Is there anyone out there who hasn't started shopping there yet? If you would like to start and have any questions, let me know. Or, if you already shop there, please share your deals!

Since I didn't take a picture of my stash from this week, I'll just outline what I found:

2 Palmolive Dish soaps
1 Tone Body Wash
1 Tone 2-pack bar soaps
1 Colgate Advanced whitening toothpaste
2 Snickers candy bars
1 6-pack boxed raisins
1 Revlon nail polish

Total after coupons and 2 Extra Care Bucks I got for taking a survey: $8.60
ECB's to use for next time: $7!

I'll let you know next week how I've used those $7, and hopefully cycled them into more ECB's.

My Grocery Deals last week

My first trip was to Kroger. I spent $46, and bought what's in the picture below. (My ballerina daughter insisted on posing with the groceries.)

There was a frozen foods buy 10 get $5 off deal (which is continuing this week, by the way). After coupons, the pizza, 2 ice creams, 5 veggie steamers, and 2 Texas Toast products cost me $11.50! I'll include the coupons that I used in the new Kroger deals post, as the deal is continuing this week.

The bumblebee tuna packet was free. They are normally priced at Kroger for .99, and there's a .50/1 coupon here which will double, and make it free!

I always check the "scratch and dent" cart to see if there's anything worth buying. Since it's generally the packaging and not the food that was harmed, I'm happy to buy it, pay less, and deal with a bent up box. (I don't usually buy the dented cans though- deep dents can cause puncturing of the can which will spoil the food.) This wee, I found the Kroger brand Rice Krispies for .99. The inside packaging was unharmed, and .99 for a box of cereal is a good price!

The Dole fruit in sugar-free gel was not on sale- it's priced at $2.19. I had a $1/1 coupon I found here and decided that $1.19 wasn't a bad price for snacks for the kids.

The apples were on sale for .99/lb, so I stocked up.

I also hit Winn Dixie for a few deals. As I spent $13.50 there, I did go over my grocery budget of $50/week, but justified it because I bought diapers, toilet paper and paper towels.

Anyway, here's what I found there:

The bread was BOGO at $2.99.
The sausage was $2.50, but I had a $1/1 coupon.
The bologna was $2.00 on sale
The peaches were .99/lb. Although we didn't need them, I couldn't resist.
The Smithfield sausage was $2.00 including my coupon.

Not GREAT deals, but not too bad.

Food Storage Friday

This day marks the end of my 2 week laziness with my blog. I went grocery shopping on Monday, and was able to get a few extras at great prices for my food storage. Here's what I found:

The pasta was on sale at Winn Dixie for $10/10. I had some .50/1 coupons from a Smartsource insert, so they were free!

The cereal was part of a deal where if you buy 4 for $10, Winn Dixie would give me a free gallon of milk and a free carton of eggs. I had 2 $2/2 Kellogg's cereal coupons, so I paid $6 for 4 boxes of cereal, milk and eggs!

I had a .50/1 Dole product coupon I found in Ladies' Home Journal (I found a free subscription online a while ago.) So the pineapple was free!

I paid a total of $3 for my food storage items this week!

Kids' Clothes Connection- My finds

I was able to shop at the Kids' Clothes Connection consignment sale a couple of days early, because I volunteer to work for them. Anyway, I was so excited to find bikes for both of my kids! My daughter will be 4 soon, and I found a Disney Princess bike with training wheels on it for $10! It's in great shape, and she absolutely loves it.

I knew that if I found a bike for my daughter, my 2 year old son would want one as well. I was lucky to find a "Radio Flyer" tricycle in great condition for him for $10 as well! So now my kids both have bikes, and ride them every day. It's fun for me to see them enjoying playing outside and getting exercise.

Since Halloween is coming soon, I wanted to find a costume for my son. I found a cute set of doctor scrubs that say "Doctor in Training" on the back. They were $5, and he loves them! My daughter is going to be a fairy, and we found her some wings and a tutu at Big Lots for $1/each. I bought her a leotard to go with them at the consignment sale for $1. I paid $8 for 2 costumes! I'm happy about that.

Let me know about the great second-hand deals you're finding!
