Nabisco $55 coupon booklet + 2 $20 REBATES

A while ago, I posted about a coupon booklet that Nabisco is putting out. It's a pocket-sized calendar with coupons included. I wrote that you can log-in online to register to have one mailed to you. If you haven't done so yet and want to, here's the link.

I'm posting about it again though, because last night, my sister found them at the grocery store! They were attached to a display in one of the aisles at Winn Dixie, and we were able to pick up a couple each.

As we were looking through it, we noticed that there are 2 $20 rebate offers included!!!! One is valid between 7/1/09-12/31/09, and the second is valid from 1/1/10-06/30/10.

You have to purchase 10 boxes of Nabisco crackers or cookies, 5 drinks, and 5 Easy Mac cups in one order, and send in the UPC codes with the receipt.

Here's a possible scenario...

If Macaroni and cheese crackers are still on sale for $1/box at Walmart, buy 10 of those, 5 Capri Sun packs at $1.98/each, and 5 Easy Mac cups at .89/each.

Your total would be $24.35 before tax. Submit for the $20 rebate and pay only $4.35!

Keep an eye out for them at the store and snag a couple to get some great coupons.

Food Storage Friday

Well, this week was a pretty good stock-up week. I didn't take a separate picture of it, but I'll tell you what I found that we'll put in storage to save for later.

I was able to buy 10 boxes of poptarts, which are free after rebate. Here's my post about those.
I also bought a couple of cans of pineapple at Kroger as they were on sale for $1/each.

So, since we're eating a few boxes of the poptarts now, I plan to put 5 in storage. I spent $2 this week on food to save for later. I feel good about that!

My weekly shopping total (after my rebates) was $45, which included diapers for my little guy.

My mom and sister were here visiting this week, and both insisted on helping out with groceries. Because we had more mouths to feed, if we include what they bought, we definitely went over our $50/week budget. I plan to be back to our regular spending next week.

Don't Forget 1/2 Price Kellogg's at Kroger!

Remember that today only Kroger is having a 1/2 price Kellogg's sale! Matching with coupons can give you some great deals, and a good scenario to use the Kellogg's Fuel For School Rebate Offer. If you still need to print off the rebate form, here's the post where I linked it.

There are some good Kellogg's coupons at coupons.com, or do me a favor, and print them off to the right on my screen!

I went this morning, and only had a couple of coupons with me, so I didn't get much. I was happy with what I found though.

The Cheez-it crackers were on sale for $1.49. I had a .75/1 coupon, but didn't notice that it was only for whole wheat Cheez-its, and unfortunately, my store didn't carry them. After I noticed that, I decided not to buy them, but then looked down and noticed that my 2 year old son had already opened the box. Oh well... $1.50 is still a great price.

The Yo-Go bites were on sale for $1.44, and I had a .50/1 coupon I found on Coupons.com a while ago. It doubled, so the bites were .44.

The Dole juice was obviously not part of that deal, but I noticed that it was on sale for $1.69, down from $2.40. I had a .50/1 coupon I saved from the Smartsource 6/14 grocery ad, so it came to .69.

I used my $2.00 off my next purchase coupon I wrote about here, and after coupons, my total was $1.02! I suppose It could have been .27 if the Cheez-it coupon worked, but I'm definitely not upset!

Clothing on Clearance at Walmart

I went to Walmart and as I was walking past their clothing department, I noticed a few racks with $1 sign on them. I went to look, and here's what I found:

The OP sweatshirt was actually $3, but priced usually at $22. The other shirts and sweater were $1 each. I spent $7 for 5 shirts!

I think that they clearance out all of last year's items that they still had in stock to make room for this year's things. (That's my guess anyway.)

It's a good idea to check right before the next season starts to see if there is anything left from last season. Right before Spring, I found Tinkerbell and Nerf sandals for my kids for $1 each. Can't get much better than that!

A .30 profit on 10 boxes of Poptarts!

I was pretty excited to find this deal...

At Winn Dixie, Kellogg's poptarts are on sale BOGO at $2.49. I bought 10 boxes and used 5 .55/1 coupons that I had. (I had 2 coupons from the newspaper, and I found the rest in the cereal aisle on a tear pad a couple of weeks ago.) My total was $9.70. I'm now going to submit that receipt for the Kellogg's Fuel For School $10 rebate, and actually earn .30!

Free Vitamin Shampoo

While shopping at Winn Dixie last night, I found a Vitamin Shampoo with a TRY ME FREE sticker on it. It was priced at $6.77, and the rebate sticker said that they will refund the purchase price up to $6.99.

When I got home, I noticed that the rebate period is between 8/1-12/31/09. I will be returning mine, so I can re-buy it in August. It looks like a great product!

Free Sure Deodorant

Last night at Winn Dixie, I noticed men's Sure deodorant with a Try-Me-Free sticker on it. To receive the rebate, print off a rebate form Here. Peel the sticker off of the deodorant and attach it to the form. Make sure you submit your original receipt with the form.

When I went to print off my rebate form, I noticed that Sure has a few more Try-Me-Free deals! Not only do they have the men's deodorant, but they have rebate forms for Sure with Natural Extracts and Sure MAX Clinical Power as well! Keep your eyes open for all three products at the store- make sure you buy the ones with the Try-Me-Free stickers.

My Winn Dixie shopping trip

I had a great shopping trip at Winn Dixie last night.

Poptarts were on sale BOGO at $2.49. I had some .55/1 coupons that I found on an aisle display at the store a couple of weeks ago. I bought 10 boxes of poptarts and used 5 coupons, since 5 of my items were free. I spent $9.70 for my 10 boxes. Now I need to submit my Kellogg's Fuel for School rebate, and I will get $10 back!!!! I will have actually made .30 on 10 boxes!

I found a Try-Me-Free sticker on Sure Deoderant for Men. It was $2.70, so I'll submit the rebate and it will be free.

I also found a Try-Me-Free tag on Vitamin Shampoo. It was selling for $6.77, and the rebate says that it is good for $6.99 and under. Unfortunately, when I got home, I read the rebate tag, and it says that it needs to be purchased between 8/1/09 and 10/31/09 to qualify. I'll be returning the shampoo and buying it next week!

I found pork ribs on a BOGO sale. I still needed to buy $20 worth of meat to submit for my $10 off of $30 meat purchase through Coors Beer. I wrote about that Here.
After I receive my rebates, I will have spent $13.50 for $72.00 worth of groceries!!!!

Great Deal on All You Magazine subscription

If you haven't heard of ALL YOU, it's a great magazine available only at Walmart, and through subscription. It focuses on the issues of the everyday woman. Right now, until July 31st, you can get a 2-year subscription to ALL YOU for just $16! The Money-Saving Mom has posted the details for her deal HERE.

Here's the catch... starting Aug. 1st, the subscription will supposedly double in price, so now is the time to order, if you plan to do so.

My Coupons.com button

Printing coupons just became one step easier! I added a coupons.com toolbar on the right of my blog, so you can now print coupons directly from blessingsfromsaving! I'd love it if you choose to do that, as I will be paid a little bit for every coupon printed.

Sour Cream Enchiladas Recipe

Here's the recipe that my sister Lindsey gave me. My family really loves it... even my picky little eaters!

1 pkg. flour tortillas
2 cans chicken- or about 1 lb. fresh
1 onion-chopped
2 cans cream of chicken soup
16 oz sour cream
shredded cheese

*I like to add about 1/2 cup Ortega Green Tomato Sauce for flavor. Since I don't have any in my cupboard, this week, I'll try adding their red taco sauce.

(I usually 1/2 the recipe for my husband, two kids and myself)

If you're using raw chicken, cook it with the onion in a skillet. If canned, just cook the onion and combine.
Mix the soup, sour cream and Ortega sauce.
Spread some on the bottom of a 9x13 pan.
Add some chicken, soup mixture, and cheese to tortillas and roll. Leave some soup to top the enchiladas.
Cover the enchiladas with remaining soup and cheese.
Sprinkle with pepper.

Cook at 350 for 30 minutes.

Menu Planning Monday

This week, my mom and my sister will be coming to spend some time with us. Even with two more people in the house, I'm not planning to spend any extra money on groceries... We'll see if I can stick to my goal. Sorry my menu is so late today... I still want to share my plan for the week:

Monday: Bruschetta Bake- This is a Kraft recipe that I found a couple of years ago. I use canned chicken to cut down on both cost and time. It's a great easy recipe that my kids love. HERE is the link to the recipe.

Tuesday: Slow-Cooker Chicken Curry- This is a new recipe that I haven't tried yet. I'll let you know how it goes.

Wednesday: Spaghetti and Meatballs

Thursday: Chicken Sour Cream Enchiladas- My sister gave this recipe to me. It's easy, quick, and amazingly good! (not to mention thrifty!) Here is the recipe, if you're interested.

Friday: Pasta Salad for a Church Potluck- I use whatever I can find in my fridge: peppers, onions, tomato, apples, grapes... toss it with some Kraft dressing that was on sale last week, and I'm set!

Saturday: Stuffed Bell Peppers- We have green peppers growing in our garden, and we need to use them before they go bad. I'm excited to try this! Does anyone have a good filling recipe?

Sunday: Pork Skewers with Rosemary Potatoes- gotta use some pork that's been in my freezer for a while. I also have a lot of potatoes from our garden. I think they'll go well together.

Food Storage Friday

I am a big advocate of having extra food and supplies on hand. It creates peace of mind, knowing that I'd be alright and have enough food for my family, if for some reason, I was not able to make it to the store.

My church encourages us to not only be self-reliant, but also to have an extra supply of food and water, in case of an emergency.

It may seem like a daunting task to build up a supply, especially when you're just starting out. What I have learned though, is to just go little by little. If I buy one extra can of vegetables, for example, each time I'm grocery shopping, and then put that away to save it, they will start to add up.

Each week when I do my shopping, I make sure to buy something extra to put away for later. Using coupons, I am able to do this without going over my weekly budget of $50 for my family of 4.

On Fridays, I will share what I have found for the week, along with any tips or ideas for building a "rainy-day" supply that I come across. I would love to hear what you do as well.

This week, I found vegetables on sale at Winn Dixie for .50/can.
I also bought 2 extra boxes of cereal at Kroger. After coupons and their promotion, they were $1/ea. The A-1 was on sale at Kroger for .49 after coupons and promo, and the peanut butter was free after my coupon!

Customer Opinion Sites

Companies value customer opinions, and many of them offer rewards for your insights and ideas. Each of the companies listed here have sent me high value or free coupons for products, along with an emailed survey to submit after trying. They also send coupons to pass along to friends. It can sometimes take a while to receive an offer, but they are fun to do. All of the sites are free to join!

Vocalpoint offers samples, recipes, and surveys, and opportunities to find out what others are thinking.

Pssst is one of General Mills' customer feedback sites. They offer product trials in exchange for help publicizing their products.

Kraft First Taste is another great site. I have received quite a few coupons for free products from them!

Swagbucks

Have you heard about Swagbucks? It's a search engine that awards you prizes, just for using their site to search! As you search, you can be awarded points each day. Let the points accumulate and cash in on gift cards and prizes! I like to save for the Amazon gift cards, and am already close to earning my 5th one.

Another great thing... if you invite friends to join, you will be awarded points for their searches, as well as your own. They accumulate so fast that way!

If you don't have an account and would like to start, register Swagbucks!

$5 Real Simple Subscription

Real Simple Magazine is on sale for $5 for a year's subscription at Amazon.com! Click here for the link, as found on Slickdeals. The cover price is $54/year, so if you like this magazine, it's a great price!
I was so excited to find this deal, because I love the magazine! I used a $5 Amazon gift card that I earned from using Swagbucks. It was a free subscription for me!

My Kroger Shopping Trip

Last night, I stopped by Kroger to take advantage of their $5 off of 10 promotion. Here's what I found:

The cereal was .99 after coupons and promo.
The Zatarain's mixes were .61/ea.
The A-1 was .49/ea.
The butter was $1.50, but I had a coupon for a free peanut butter to go with it. Both for $1.50!
The Sunny-D was .79. They didn't have any Sunny-D Smoothies... which is what my coupons were for... too bad, but still a good deal.
The gloves were .50.
The cherries were on sale for .99/lb, and I just couldn't resist.

My total including tax was $11.41. Before coupons and store sales, it would have been $42.16!

My Winn Dixie shopping trip

I went shopping at Winn Dixie last night, and I must say, while I was at the store, I was a little disappointed. I planned to buy the Tyson Skillet meal, but they didn't carry them at that store. So, I had to do a little quick thinking to try to get some good deals that I hadn't previously planned.

I was still able to buy $72.68 worth of groceries for $34.83. All told, including my Kroger stop, I spent $45.00 for this week in groceries. Since my budget is $50/week, I'm happy with that. I even included diapers and wipes in my total!!!

Here's what I found:
Canned corn and beans were on sale for .50/ea.
After sale and coupons, the peanuts were $1.
After sale and coupons, the cereal was $2.00/ea. (not a great deal, but I needed to get to my $50 to use my $10 off of $50 coupon.)
The lunch meat was $2.00 each.
Hot pockets were $1/ea. after coupons and sale.
I splurged a little and bought ice cream sandwiches... We needed a treat!

Let me know what deals you found at Winn Dixie this week. I'd love to hear about them!

Menu Planning Mondays

Each Monday, I am going to share my menu that I have planned for the week. I try to plan what to make based on weekly grocery sales, as well as what is already in my cupboard. I hope this is helpful!

This Week:
Monday: Zatarain's Rice Blends (on sale at Kroger, part of the $5 off 10 promo.) I already have some Hillshire Farms sausage that I will mix with it. This meal should only cost me .61 in groceries this week!
Tuesday: Tyson Skillet Creations Dinner- these are not on sale, but if you submit the rebate I posted here, it will be free! Coupled with the $1/1 coupon here, you could make a buck!
Wednesday: Lime Parmesan Chicken Over Noodles
Thurs: Meatball Sandwiches
Friday: Curry Chicken over Rice
Saturday: Pasta Salad (I bought Kraft salad dressing last week on sale for .69, and have the veggies growing in my garden. I bought lots of noodles on sale a while ago.)
Sunday: Burritos: As a menu filler, we like to eat burritos often. I have ground beef in my freezer. I just need to buy tortillas.)

Here's my recipe for the Parmesan Chicken:(I found this on KUTV News in Utah)
The mix will make more than 2 chicken breasts.

2 Large Chicken Breast halves
salt and pepper to taste
2 thin slices Mozzarella cheese (cheese on sale last week)
3/4 C seasoned breadcrumbs
2 slices fresh lime (these were on sale at Winn Dixie .10/ea.
1 egg
1/4 C milk
1 C flour
12 oz pasta
1 C shredded Parm. cheese
Pasta sauce

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Butterfly each breast. Fold lime slice and rub inside each breast while squeezing. Lightly salt and pepper each side. Place 1 slice cheese inside and fold other side of butterfly to close.
Mix egg and milk. Dip breast in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
Place in casserole dish and back about 45 mins.
Serve over noodles with sauce and parmesan cheese.

Super Cheap Flights with Spirit Airlines

jetphotos.net

Spirit Airlines, a small airline based out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, is constantly offering amazing deals on flights. I receive their emails each week outlining their specials, and often see flights for less than $10 each way! If you would like to receive their emails, sign up here.

While they have great sale fares, they also have a pretty limited list of travel destinations. They fly mainly in the Southeastern United States, along with some Caribbean and South American destinations. However, they also have flights going to Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Las Angeles.

They are a good choice for me, as we live in Alabama and have family in Florida.

To receive most of the great deals, you need to be a member of their "$9 Fare Club". Membership costs about $40/year. If you plan to fly more than once a year though, this fee can definitely be worth it. For more information on joining, click here.

If you want further information, here is a link to Spirit's website: Spiritair.

*In order to offer such great fares, they charge for all in-air food and drinks, so plan accordingly.

Free Arby's Roastburger with Soft Drink Purchase

Arby's is offering a free BBQ Bacon Cheddar Roastburger with the purchase of any soft drink! This offer is only valid through 7/12. Print your coupon here.

New Budgeting Idea

My husband and I have decided to try a new method for our monthly budgeting. Usually, we use our credit card for all of our purchases, and then just pay it off each month. I read about a cash only idea that we're trying this month. First, we made a budget for groceries, clothing, entertainment, and miscellaneous expenses for the month. I went to the bank and withdrew what we thought we would use. (My husband gets paid once a month, so we just took everything for the whole month.) I labeled some envelopes for the different categories and put all of the money in.

So far, I have really liked this method. I took out my $50 for my grocery trip last night, and planned to use no more than that. While I would always stay close to my budgeted amount when I used credit cards, it was not a big deal to me if I went over a little bit. Since I only had $50 in my pocket, I couldn't go over what I planned. Not only did this help me to stay on my target, but I found myself sticking very closely to the grocery list I made before leaving. I wanted to save what was in my pocket and only spend what I absolutely had to. After my trips to Winn Dixie, Kroger and CVS, my total was $42. (I even have $4.50 in CVS Extra Care Bucks to use next week!) I bought everything I needed and stayed under budget!!!

Has anyone tried this method? What do you think about it? Tell me how you budget!

My Winn Dixie shopping trip 7/6

I had a great night at Winn Dixie last night!

My total before coupons and store savings was $79.61.
After coupons and customer rewards, I spent $24.97!

Here's how I did it:
I had a Winn Dixie $10 off $50 coupon that printed from my last trip.
I also had a $4 off my purchase coupon from all of the cheese I bought last week. Here is the link.
General Mills products were on sale 4/$10, with an extra $4 savings at the register. I used a $1 off 2 Cheerios coupon I found on the General Mills website, as part of a promotion.
-.80 off 2 coupon for the yogurt here.
- .75 off coupon for the Total that I received with a sample in the mail.
The Kraft cheese was on sale for $1.50 each, and I had a $1 off 2 coupon.
The pickles were on a BOGO sale for $2.29. Paired with a .50 off 1 coupon that doubled, they came to .65 each. (I found this coupon in the paper a couple of weeks ago, but can't remember the exact date.)
The Kraft dressing was on sale for $1.68.
-$1/1, Smartsource 6/21
The Ritz crackers were on sale for $2.50. I used a "Buy Ritz get Wheat Thins Free" coupon found in the 5/17 Smartsource insert.
The Triscuits were BOGO for $3.39. I had a $1 off 1 coupon found online.
The Apple Jacks were on sale for $1.77.
-$1/1, Red Plum 6/7 insert.
The strawberries were BOGO for $3.99. I wouldn't have bought so many, but I needed a filler to reach my $50 so I could use my $10 off coupon.

My Thrifty CVS deals

I stopped by CVS this morning. There are a lot of great ECB (extra care bucks) deals this week. Since I didn't have any left from a previous purchase and I didn't want to spend much money out of pocket, I just bought a couple of things, with the intention of building up my ECB count for next time.

The Dawn soap is on sale for $2/2. If you buy 2, you will get $1 ECB.
Use 2 .25 off coupons (P&G insert 7/5)
$1 off Colgate coupon (Smartsource mailer) receive $2 ECB's with purchase.
CVS pantiliners: .89, receive $.99 ECB.
I received an extra .50 ECB for my shopping in the Spring. (CVS gives a small percentage of your purchases back in the form of ECB's)

My total came to $5.39 for all of my items, and I got $4.50 in ECB's for my next trip!

If you are new to CVS shopping, Money Saving Mom has a great tutorial here. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. Just leave me a comment!

No Beer Purchase Required

It pays to look over the beer displays in grocery stores... even if you don't drink it!
From time to time, there are tear-pads offering coupons and rebates, with no beer purchase required! Free groceries? Yes please!

I found this one at Kroger for $10 of free meat. If I purchase $30 worth of fresh meat before July 31st, I can send in the rebate, and they will send me $10 back! I don't need to buy all of the meat at one time- I just need to make sure I send in all of my receipts with the purchase prices circled.

(Although you don't need to purchase the beer, you do need to be at least 21 years old to complete the offers) This one is only good in the following states: AL, AR, CT, HI, KS, KY, ME, MO, NC, NJ, NY, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WV.

Happy 4th of July!

I want to wish you all a Happy 4th of July! I am so grateful for the liberties that we possess, and for all of the troops who stand on the front lines every day to preserve those freedoms. It is priceless to be able to make our own choices and govern ourselves, within the bounds set by our inspired Constitution. We truly live in a blessed country and I am definitely proud to say I'm an American!

One way we can show our gratitude to our troops is by donating expired manufacturer's coupons to their families. For more information, and to find out where to send your coupons, click here.

My cheese run to Winn Dixie

I mentioned earlier that I forgot to take my coupons for the Kraft cheese when I went to Winn Dixie this morning. I made a quick run back over there tonight, and was pretty glad that I did.

I was able to buy 9 packets of cheese for a total of $5.22, including tax. Again, I used .50 off coupons that I found last week in the dairy aisle. It's really worth it to pick up the coupons attached to displays at the store.

I love this receipt- I paid $5.22 and saved $24.21!

At the register, I received another surprise- a coupon for $4 off my next shopping order printed, as well as another $10 off of $50!

I like Winn Dixie more every time I shop there.

Free groceries at Kroger!

I stopped at Kroger this evening to pick up a few things that were on sale. Here's what I was able to buy for free!!!!

I had 2 coupons for free sugar when I buy 10 packets of Koolaid. The Koolaid is on sale right now for 10/$1.

The Pert Plus has a "Try Me Free" sticker on it. I just have to print the rebate form from their website. I also had a $1.50 off coupon for this, so after all is said and done, I will have made money on it!

The BBQ sauce is on sale for .99. I had 2 coupons for .50 off. Like Winn Dixie, the Kroger in my area doubles the value of manufacturer's coupons up to .50, so they took $1 off.

The gum was on sale for .59 each. I had 2 coupons for .75 off, so I made a little money!

I also had 2 coupons for a free can of dog food.

I was pretty excited about this shopping trip.

Kroger Hint

When Kroger has Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) deals, you don't need to buy 2 in order to take advantage of the deal. When the cashier is ringing up your groceries, the BOGO items ring up at 1/2 price, so if you only need one, get it at half price! Also, if you have any coupons to match with the deal, you can really save.

Kroger Deals 7/1-7/7

A few days ago, I posted about the deals that I found for free at Kroger. I wanted to add a few other good deals that I've found this week.

Seedless watermelon: $3.99
Southern Grown Peaches: .79/lb (great jam-making price!)
Kroger brand gallon milk: $1.99
Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers 6-6.8oz.: .99
